The tools of convergence theory in economic science and practice of regional policy in Ukraine

Modern economic approaches to understanding the impact of disparities on development regions Ukraine are analyzed. The study was conducted using elements convergence theory. based gross regional product (GRP) per capita and Gini coefcient by region for period 2004 - 2019. Absolute chosen as methodological basis. Sigma beta methods were used determine trend indicators between regions. dynamics inequality in from 2019 tested: years which policy absence strategic planning (2004 2005) with its use (2006-2019). It is established that sigma processes not observed during analyzed period, evidenced upward values calculated variation coefcient. reliability obtained results confrmed data other sources information (Regional Human Development Index, Ministry Communities Territories Ukraine). calculation forecast until 2027 did confrm decrease differentiation period. calculations showed average needs 14.6 cover half distance separates it steady state, corresponds a rate 3.37% year. found current identifed trends developed forecasts taken into account, complicates achievement goal set State Strategy Regional 2027. do allow conclusions about effectiveness policy. Therefore, further research needed, particular identifcation variables reflect imbalances. also advisable take account check presence "club" convergence, i.e. groups within country.
